Pangeanic's history

the year 2005, when the CEO, Manuel Herranz, after eight years of work in a translation company based in Europe and Asia (B.I. Corporation), decides to take a big leap in his professional career.

It was a time when machine translation was beginning to gain strength, and perhaps because of His studies in Philology, but also in Industrial Engineering, Manuel felt that he had to bet on this increasingly booming sector.

Thus, in 2005 he takes over the headquarters in Europe, and the change begins. After training in the different approaches to translation technologies Automatically, attending many conferences and debates, decided to establish a collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). It was in the wake of this collaboration that realized that success did not lie solely in using systems of machine translation, but in producing them as well. Two years later, in 2007, the changes follow, and B.I. Europe is renamed Pangeanic.

And why Pangeanic?

Pangaea is the name given to the unique continent that existed millions of years ago. Our company follows the philosophy of "union" of all continents, which after all is the mission of translation, to facilitate communication between people from different people languages, so that information can be accessible to everyone, and be as says the literal translation of Pangaea, "the whole Earth."

But not only aesthetic changes occur, but also business vision, and Pangeanic is in 2008 he became one of the founding members of the TAUS Data Association. It was not the largest company in the sector, nor the one with the most means, but, even so, Manuel was clear about it. The future lay in machine translation. He did not hesitate even a second, and together with their collaborators from the UPV they began to study and carry out tests customization of statistical machine translation engines.
