Pecat is an implementation of a CAT and processing tool of cloud-based linguistic corpus coupled to online interfaces for translation, post-editing, proofreading, evaluation, annotation projects and audio transcription. Pecat is intended as an excellent solution for projects in which one or more of the following conditions are met:
• The format of the file(s) to be processed does not require the use of specialized tools, (.tsv extension files are used,
.xlf, mp3, wav and flac). In addition, it is not necessary to use translation memories for work on different translation or revision projects.
• The process lacks context • The font is of low quality because of its origin, probably created automatically • The final product is used to build training corpus • The project is very large and requires a great effort of coordination and management of many suppliers/linguists • Lead times are short, requiring full control of progress and quick project management actions
Pecat is totally online and it is not recommended to use it when the different actors cannot work connected to the Internet or have little connection capacity.
